That vid is super sweet. Now that your basically done with the install, can we get a list of everything that was done with this swap? What's factory, what's aftermarket?

Thanks,

Nathan

noticed any issues with the trans yet?

spring im hopin to finally get some headers, cam and a converter..thats if i can find a trans before then..all in due time i suppose..

what are you runnin for a LSD?
No issues with the trans yet, knock on wood. I'm still running the stock 3.73 LSD and probably will until that craps out. If that goes, I'll just probably pick up a stronger aftermarket unit and drop down to a set of 4.10s while I'm at it.

Now that the Swap is complete and frying 24"s. I want to know what is next?:mexsmoke:
Still gotta pick up a stronger trans or rebuild this one to hold up. Aside from that, I have some plans for the interior and cleaning up the outside some more, like shaving the tailgate. I'm also thinking about changing the wheels and bagging it later down the road.

Stock '05 6.0 LQ9 longblock.
Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam and Comp Cams LS6 springs.
NGK TR6 plugs.
Stock flexplate, starter, pcm (BB tuned), harness, water pump, and all accessory brackets/accessories from old 5.3.
Pinned crank pulley.
New stock motor mounts.
Exhaust isn't finished, but will be completely aftermarket. Right now, it's true duals, running off the stock 6.0 manifolds straight into a couple 2-chamber Flowmasters and rear O2 delete. Once all my parts come in, it will be LT headers running into a custom true dual 2.5" setup with x-pipe and the two mufflers. Hopefully I'll have all this finished next week.
That's pretty much it, other than the SC with a smaller pulley.

Thanks!!!

The reason I asked is because I was looking to go ahead and get my cam and springs. Already ordered my electric fans, and next will come my tune, and then saving for my SC :)

That's funny. I saw your 'hoe out there too and thought, damn, I've seen that somewhere before. I left before you did I think.

Why do more people decide to go with blowers instead of going the turbo route? Is it strictly a cost issue or what?

I like both the blowers and the turbos, but if you look under the hood where are you going to put the turbo or turbos? then you have to do something to get the exhaust to the turbo/turbos and then get it out the the rear of the truck. maybe if a efan swap would free up enough room for a turbo up front or you can go and put the turbo all the way in the back where the muffler is. There is a co that does just that.
with blowers you get instant boost and the drain of hp by driving the blower. With the turbo the boost isn't instant but then it doesn't cost you any hp to drive it.

I had a set of towing twins on my 3500 2wd Dodge with the cummins and loved it, the small turbo got lit up at a lower rpm and the larger turbo took it from there.

I would love to put a blower of some kind on my Denali. there are just to many choices/

I know all that. I come from a turbo import background where space is at a premium and I have a friend who has done quite a few twin turbo c5 vette builds so I really don't think space would be that big of an issue. With the size of the motor (6.0) you have the torque and such off the line and with such a moderate redline you could really size the turbos to give you more low/mid range power since there is only so far to rev a stock motor. It would seem that you could keep the stock drive ability for just putting around town with turbos where the blower is more dependent on RPMs.

Mayhave cheap access to a 07 sierra DH with a L69 6.0 that needs rebuilt and a 4l80e/85e that works but has 200k miles on it....I really need to do some homework and see about a mild rebuild and refresh of the trans and what it will take to swap that in my Tahoe.
