So I need some opinions. At first I was going to get 4.10 gears, then lately I starting leaning towards 4.56. I just looked and the truck has 3.73 in it now. I think I am going to go 4.88. The difference from 4.56 to 4.88 is about 200 rpm at highway speed. The truck is a dog with the current gears and I thought it had 3.42 but I was wrong.

Thoughts? Since I am spending the money to get it done I would rather over gear the under gear. It is a big heavy truck.

Got a little box of parts in the garage just yesterday. I will post a picture up tonight. Nothing really cool though. However i just got off the phone with a local company about the gears and this may all happen in the next 2-3 weeks!

i don't think i would run 4.88's with 33's. mines overgeared with 35's and 4.88's.

As for the gears...this thing is just such a pig. it is only a 200rpm difference is what has got me up in the air about it. Right now at 80 I think it is about 2500 rpm or so. This is a mall crawler so maybe the 4.56 is a good route...plus a stroker motor??? hmmm.

Any way, my package was this. Like I said nothing fun, the rotors are warped a little now and the pads are low so it was time.

OK I need more opinions:

Should I take the wheels and tires off the tahoe and run them on the burban? I am thinking about getting some 17x9 ATX Chamber wheels with 4.52" BS and -12mm offset with some new35x12.5 Procomp extreme MT tires (or maybe a 36 if I can find some for a 17" wheel) for the tahoe.

So?

edit: for those who don't know I am running a 35x12.5 procomp extreme AT with a 17x8 ATX mojave on the tahoe now

Opposed to what? What would you put on the burb if you kept your rims and tires on the Tahoe? Whatever you do put A/T's on the burb to keep the wife happy if that is her rig.

right now on the x8" are just fine. I used to run a 305 on the stock wheels with no problems. Hopefully by weeks end I should be ordering the lift, wheels, gears and trutrac.

just ordered the new tahoe wheels. The suburban is getting the 17" mojaves off the tahoe and the tahoe gets new shoes. I have been putting off the lift and gears until I wrap up a project at work (in order to fund this project).

Like the wheels! What size are you putting back on the Tahoe? another set of 17's?

been thinking of ditching these 951's for some teflon wheels the next time around, seem to be a better choice with all this damn salt...

the ones going on the burban are 17x8 with 4.44" BS I think. The new ones are 17x9 with 4.53" BS and -12mm offset.

Adam: got them at Summit racing.

Dan: about a hundred a piece for the rotors.

Summit has pretty decent prices on things and amazing fast shipping.
