Got the OEM catback from a silverado, should have plenty of pipe to repair the Y and build a decent dump using this muffler.

If anyone was curious an extended cab 6'6" bed silverado cat back fits in a Tahoe by about 2".

Let me first start by showing the gaps I had to fill from the cat removal and the pieces I cut from the cat back to do so.

Also disclaimer! I know this isn't "the best" way to do this. Much more time, attention to detail and effort could be put forth but this is not the project for that.

Anxiously awaiting transmission removal

Me to...... Never got to it because I left my laptop at home and didn't want to go back and don't want to pull the trans until i pull codes and try to command 3rd or 4th. Also buddy may be coming back in a week or so which is a month earlier than expected and his ass can pull it I'll bench it lol.

Y pipe re welded in a few spots, muffler pipe done besides a better turn down and hanger. Was able to get some better welds in but still could have lowered the wire speed a tad to make cleaner welds.

It sounds half decent, pretty deep compared to stock but no rasp or crackle, over all very mild even with the leaks due to lack of gaskets anywhere.

That's much better than I was thinking it would be lol. Honestly, not much different than my c10 with cats and magnaflow with turn down

Me to! It's nearly stock quiet IMO, maybe those little bullet resonators actually do something.

I know the combo of resonators looks super crooked but that was by design, the Y pipe was angled just a tad too high and to the passenger side. Rather than redo it since it doesn't leak I figured canting the muffler pipe over would be fine, and it worked great. Gonna pick up some new nuts at Ace Hardware today and tomorrow morning I'll tighten it up better, build a muffler hanger probably out of some flat stock and just hard mount it to the frame. Then take it for a drive and see if I can command third or not. Also might try a burnout see if its got the ballz.

try 4th as well. I'm pretty confident in my original diagnosis but sometimes we get lucky. Check fluid level at warm temp. Add dexron 3 as needed. If it's leaking, low fluid level can make it not shift too. Good luck with it

Excuse my ignorance but, when you say "check when warm" does that mean drive it a few miles then check? Or let idle for 10 minutes and check? Figured gotta drive it but just checking lol.

Should I be able to command it into either gear while going slow say 25mph? Or do I need to get up to 50+ before trying 4th?

Also, I don't think it's leaking bad or much at all, its been in the shop for several days and last night I ran it, and still no trans fluid puddle and the case is dry. Maybe a burnout will get it leaking.

just drive it around for a bit. Cycle through the gears, just to insure fluid is flowing everywhere. You should be able to command any gear at any speed since you're the one telling it what to do.

I like a submissive hoe ;)

That's what I figured on the fluid, now that it has exhaust I won't mind a trip around the neighborhood in it lol.
