Wondering about the noticeable differences with standard Mobil 1 10w-30 and Mobil 1 Extended Performance 10w-30 and Mobil 1 High Mileage? Any thoughts and/or stories of gains/losses?

wow, I doubt I will ever get past 300k the way I've been driving mine. Currently sitting at 234kWell, my guess would be you gain a lighter wallet because you lose more money.
But seriously, run whatever you think is going to give you better performance/engine life/ cleaning properties. Because as long as you have a decent oil change regimen it really doesnt matter.
Silverado has over 400k with the last 200 being ac delco oil filter and oriellys house oil. The 5.0 in my f150 just went 310k with motorcraft filters and whatever is on sale oriellys 10w30, Pennzoil straight 40 etc.
May I suggest lending it to @Mudsport96? It looks like he does a lot of driving and can take care of that for you very quickly. It looks like he takes care of his trucks, too...wow, I doubt I will ever get past 300k the way I've been driving mine. Currently sitting at 234k
NAPA has Mobil1 5W30 in 5 Qt. jugs for $29.95 this month. All flavors... Regular price is $45-$48 a jug. Dang good price!you wont notice a thing between conventional oil and full synesthetic.
in the end oil is oil. my last oil change i went to mobile 1 full syn, it still drinks some. still turns black. more importantly it didnt cause any oil leaks. iirc it was like 30 bucks 5 qt jug and a qt. buy it at walmart, cheapest price you'll find local, for any of the oil they sell this goes for.
Back in the early 2000s, i worked in a Walmart TLE. We had a guy that was a traveling mechanic for travel trailers ( think axle bearing roadside replacements, brakes, etc) that was a regular.I think Im pretty much done overpaying for Mobil1. I am currently running the walmart brand oil ($18/5qts) and the truck seems to like it fine. After that its the delco stuff until I am out of that.
I based my decision on this article from Blackstone labs.Back in the early 2000s, i worked in a Walmart TLE. We had a guy that was a traveling mechanic for travel trailers ( think axle bearing roadside replacements, brakes, etc) that was a regular.
He had a maroon Astro van with the 4.3 with a documented 500k on it and a purple and white 96 f150 with the 302 with 400k on it. Both ran SuperTech oil and Wix filters. He changed oil religiously at 2500 miles, because he hated going over 3000. And as he would say, " 500 miles? I did that yesterday so better safe than sorry ".
So, it is my experience that post 1980s oil doesn't vary brand to brand as much as companies like to make it seem. Now...there are exceptions and maybe if i can find time, ill post up the site that does independent testing and tells you what brands to avoid. I.E. DG, certain no name gas station oils.
Within the last few months they used to sell two 5 quart jugs for 25.99. I see they don’t offer those anymore primarily because they probably can’t keep up with demand. Sometimes locally stores will still have these in stock… it works out to about $2.60 a quart for very high quality synthetic oil. Worth looking for.I forgot about Costco Kirkland brand! $46.99 for a full case of 12 1 qt. bottles. That works out to $23.50 each for two oil changes. That's $3.92 per quart.
For comparing to 5 qt. jug prices... 5 qts. at Costco equals $19.58.
They do carry Mobil 1. Not sure what the price is on that for comparison. Might be equal to, or slightly less if on sale, compared to Walmart.
All I use now in both my cars is Walmart's full synthetic. It's as good as anything else out there and much cheaper.I think Im pretty much done overpaying for Mobil1. I am currently running the walmart brand oil ($18/5qts) and the truck seems to like it fine. After that its the delco stuff until I am out of that.
Getting back to the original question......Wondering about the noticeable differences with standard Mobil 1 10w-30 and Mobil 1 Extended Performance 10w-30 and Mobil 1 High Mileage? Any thoughts and/or stories of gains/losses?
