not wanting to start after 250 mile drive

I drove my 2004 Yukon 250 miles today (70 mph), when I arrived at my destination and stopped the truck reved up a little and went back to normal idle. I tried to start it 30 minutes later and it didn't want to start. It started on the 4th try.
I have a new fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, new air filter and gas was 3/4 full. Any ideas ? I'm stumped

Subscribing....mine did the same thing about 2 weeks ago. 3rd or 4th turn of the key and it started like nothing happened. The previous 2 turns of the key yielded a single "click," nothing more.

I had that symptom a couple of months ago in my 99Tahoe.. $200 for napa's top line starter - no core charge. There are two different sizes - diameter of motor. I think the smaller diameter are geared - but I don't know that. I got the same size as I pulled out - the smaller dia.

No issues since replacement.

Maybe one can change the solenoid/clean contacts - don't know. Solenoid is part of the starter. New one came with the new starter - which was part of my plan - to change both.

If you haven't done one before: Remember to pull the battery cable first. It was only a small scuffle to get the old out and new in. Had to drop the old then remove wires. Couldn't get at them with the starter in place. Also connected cable and wire first then twisted the new one into place. Only issue was to pay attntion to the orientation of the lugs before pulling them off.
