I've had great advice here on my Hoe in the past so I was hoping I might get some advice in a general automotive sense.

I have a 93 camaro, V6 3.4l engine. Battery was dead so I tried to jump start it. The starter is turning over but it doesn't sound normal. It sound more like an electric motor turning, not an electric motor turning over an engine.
I also noticed that the crankshaft would only move about an inch , stop, move another inch, stop, etc...

I'm thinking some of the starter teeth are chewed up. I'm guessing if it were the flywheel, the crank stop start wouldn't be so uniform and it would at least try to catch.

Thoughts? What else should I check if it were you?
