Noise from Front Diff

I know this is an old posting but, I'm looking to get this done. I found a really good write up on it. But if I just do the carrier bearings, as long as I keep the shimming the same, think I'll have to re-do the back lash and gear mesh. Only crappy thing is its making a good amount of noise, drained the oil, got some metal. and it looks like someone was in there before me, semi fresh gm bond on the mating surfaces. who knows if they guy before me did it right.

Good luck if u try and do it by yourself. It's not that easy. I decided to pay my mechanic after I tried to take it apart myself.
