whats up everybody i just bought an 08 yukon slt, I want to lower 3/5 with 22s and wanted to know how big of a tire i could clear. Im hoping to put slap on some 40s or 45s if possible to get the smoothest ride possible. I used to own an 07 silverado and had the dealer lower it but rode like shit. does anybody have any suggestions and what i can do to get the best ride possible? btw..bad ass forum

Hey Juan,

You're going to have a little rub at full lock with a 40 and a 45 ... obviously more with the 45 and depending on the tire width you want to go with (285/295/305) and the wheel offset.

Nothing too serious though, just some trimming of the liners.

However a 3/5 drop will probably require a 'free travel' mod if you want to retain ride quality.

Now show us a pic! :)

Thanks tony i really like how that 3/5 looks on that tahoe thats pretty much what i want it to look like. I just dont want a huge gap between my tires and fenders, and also maintain that smooth ride

Hey Juan,

I'm not an expert in these things but I believe a free travel mod is when you cut the rear bumpstop brackets off of the frame ... it improves ride quality when these trucks are dropped more than a couple of inches.

NorcalSS can explain it better. :)
