Newbie, 07 Tahoe crack in roof, leaking

Any evidence she was hit back there or the driver backed into something? Could it have come from lifting the hatch too high?

that's what I am thinking someone might have had the cylinder off and lifted it too high, really odd place to get a crack otherwise, maybe it could be welded if you want a permanent fix

It doesn't look to have been in an accident? I usually can spot a repaired/painted vehicle across the parking lot. I've done body work before. So I used some rtv in the crack. It rained all night, checked it this morning...drip,drip,drip. It's definitely coming from around the hinge. I'll get the hatch off this weekend and see. It may have a crack under the hinge. Bolts were tight. Back to the drawing board.
