Greetings, my name is Nick. And thank you for allowing me to join the site. Here's our 1999 Tahoe we picked up end of 2021. It's a K1500, 5.7L. My wife and I flew to Texas and drove it 1600 miles back home to NY. It's not driven in the winter and stored indoors. Currently has just about 130k miles on it, so it's life has just begun IMO. We're no stranger to this generation of Tahoe/Suburban as this Tahoe is (1) of (4) we've owned since 2005. We have had a '98 GMC Suburban/K1500/5.7, '98 Chevy Suburban/K2500/5.7 and a 1996 Chevy Suburban/K1500/5.7(this is my current winter driver - it's days are numbered lol). All have been victim of the NY salt. Except this one. Plans are to preserve it best we can.

Hoping to pick some brains here as the need arises and help out when and where I can as I've done most of my own work on these over the years. We love these 1st gen GM's. If you all wish I can post pics of the other (3) I mentioned as well.

Well, the first one we bought was back in 2005. It was this 1998 GMC Suburban. K1500, 5.7, barn doors, leather. We took the kids to Disney World in 2009 in this. By 2015 The body was absolutely hammered, doors near falling off from the NY winters. Pulled lots of parts off of it as I bought another one before getting rid of it. Our son kept the front grille and it's hanging on his wall for sentimental purposes. He used the center console in his room as part of his gaming center for a few years. We loved this thing. My wife says she has never experienced a more comfortable vehicle for long trips. The Tahoe comes in a close 2nd she says.

FYI that's a friend in the pic giving his daughter a ride on my bike. The truck's in the background is why I posted it. Couldn't find any pics where the truck is the the sole center of attention lol.

Here's the 1998 K2500 we owned. 5.7 in it as well. I intentionally put the pic of the engine bay in on this one because of that hydro-boost. Cold winter night that blew on me and what a different experience replacing that one compared to conventional vacuum assist lol.

Here's our 1996 we currently own. K1500, 5.7L. It has a touch over 200k miles on it. It's my daily driver for the winter. This one came into our driveway in 2016. A friend of mine owned it for 10 or so years prior to me. He brought it to me regularly for maintenance for the time he owned it. So it came with knowing a lot of the history which I appreciate.
