New to the forum, just bought my first suv.. 2013 GMC Yukon SLT with 5.3L. Got the K&N Blackhawk intake as a gift and plan on doing a Magnaflow Catback system in the next few weeks. Will i need a tune? If so could you point in the right direction? I just want it to sound nice, if possible gain some mpg, and still be completely reliable. I've never had a vehicle tuned so im blind when it comes to this. Thanks for the help.

Welcome and congrats on the new ride. You won't need a tune, but a tune wouldn't hurt. I've had 2 different vehicles tuned by Blackbear and was very happy with the results. No issues with either. Well, except my lead foot getting a bit heavier.

@JennaBear @SidewaystheSeven thank you both for the input. I'll post pics of the finished product ina week or so. Single or dual magnaflow's? A shop close by quoted me at 350 for single side or 600 for dual. Add another 100 for stainless steel.

Welcome
It all depends on what you like. I would do stainless, it will last a life time. Great start to your first SUV. I would tune it also. It helps in many areas not just power and mpg.

How do you like your blackhawk?

I also just bought a new SUV (2011 z71 tahoe). Also new to the site. I am considering buying a CAI for it as well...

You feel a little torque and horsepower increase but not much and when you get you get on the gas it has a nice growl. Havent checked to see if i gained mpg yet. I'll check that when i take it on a trip later this month.

Good looking truck. Some black projectors would finish it off.

Let me tell you, I've got a CAI, a magnaflow knockoff muffler and a resonator delete. More or less (probably less) the same setup you're talking about. Just got my BB tune and man... you don't know what you're missing without it. Definitely go with Black Bear.
