Compared with the stock 6.2 in our ‘07 Denali, I can pull our 6500 lb. camper up the same steep grades in 3rd on our ‘12, but the ‘07 needs to drop down to 2nd to maintain the same speed. Very happy. I can also keep 6th on the highway most of the time.

Dunno if that was meant to be funny. 2nd on a 4 speed is about the same as 3rd on a 6 speed isn't it?

The Denali and Escalade got the 6 speed transmissions starting in '07.

The rest of the trucks didn't get them until '09.
