So they have SD cards in them, and not hard drives? I thought my 2012 had a 30gb hard drive

2012-14 Tahoe/yuk/sub/yukxl and denali all Can be had with hard drive nav units.
So the Acadia or Escalade units use a SD card for updates? They have a hard drive (HDD) and the screen flips up to access the SD card for updates to the Navi data when available.
Read the pdf of the user manual. They’re an obscure head unit that slipped under the radar when CUE came out in 14-15.

Pretty sure the DVD drive Navi access the Navi disc that way too.

where do you get the map update discs from? - for the 2012Yeah
Yeah on my 2011 there was an on-screen button in one of the menus to eject nav disc and it caused the screen to flip down exposing another DVD slot behind the screen.
My 2012 doesn't, it has a hard drive and map update discs get fed into the top CD/DVD slot and copies to the hard drive then removed.

Those don't work on the 2012+

Which is why I wrote this is an example....Those don't work on the 2012+
I used one of those on my 2011, but the hard drive based units need the dvd coded to the vin of the truck to install correctly.

But he asked specifically for 2012. I have never seen those on ebay, due to being vin locked copy protectedWhich is why I wrote this is an example....
A 2012 nav is not an upgrade in 2020. Look for a high quality aftermarket unit that can bluetooth stream (the 2012 cant), and has amp/speaker/sub connections...
Lol, got the teenager an 07 accord, and the $180 pioneer I installed has a better back up image than my 18 burb (plus it streams BT). Upgrading the old double din head unit is so easy with the harnesses & dash kits available. New HU, speakers, amp, and a sub is a single afternoon project, and well worth it...This is very true. By today's standards it is limited and lacking!
Compared to my 2001 factory stereo it's an upgrade though...lol
