This was inspired by a buddy's BMW interior. I thought why not do something different from the norm. Started out with the standard black cloth interior with that cheap looking wood grain trim, in which I HATE!

Finally had a few days to change up my interior. I found a leather kit, all 3 rows, on Ebay from a seller in Louisiana. Believe it or not $400 for all 3 rows! Pulled out all the wood grain trim pieces, sanded, primer, and spayed them the same color as the exterior. As you can see, put in the titanium gray leather interior. It took a little time, but I think it came out real nice. The leather kit fits like a glove! :party36:

Tomorrow, going to try to figure out how to wire up my aftermarket set heater. What do you guys think?

Doing a leather interior is not for wussies.

As far as painting the trim pieces. A light sanding or scuff pad. Spayed with an adhesion promoter. Sprayed a couple coats of plastic primer. 2-3 coats of top coat. Finished with 2-3 coats of clear with a hardener. Of course sand and polish and done deal!

The center console was the easiest part. Unscrew it to remove it from the console (about 12 screws total). Once you take it apart, GM used staples to secure the cover. So not biggie at all! It's a lot easier than it looks!

Thanks

I love it, exceptally the painted trim. Everything really looks as if it goes together.

Thanks! I was a little nervous at first. But told myself, If I don't like it I can always change it back!

I like it, do they make kits for the NBS? My leather in the Denali is looking a bit tired. Time for an update to it.

LOL...No I dig the wood trim as well. I have had too many European cars with wood trim and I always appreciated that look. Though.....carbon fiber would be interesting as well.

thats an interesting look, how hard was it to change it like that?

It wasn't hard at all. The painting was easy. i would advise anyone changing out the interior, just take the seats out of the truck. I took the 2 front seats out, and the swap was like 20-30 minutes each, very easy. I got lazy and decided to leave the rear seats in the truck and changed it. The small space made it hell to change (I'm 6'5 LOL) But everything was pretty straight forward and no special tool were needed! Definitely a DIY project
