I love the carbon fiber wrap you did over the fake wood!!! Could you explain how you did that possibly? Would love to do that in my 2010 Tahoe too! Thanks buddy, the car looks great!!!Sort of new to the forum but have surfed it a lot while looking for parts for my 2010 Tahoe PPV. I bought the car a few months ago with 150k miles but only 3k engine hours. I love this car and have replaced the following so far:
- New headlights with led bulbs
- New smoked fog lights. Had to hardwire in a switch.
- New GoRhino buddy bumper
- New OEM grilles
- Dipped the front and rear emblems black
- Dipped the oem mirror caps gloss white
- New OEM tail lights
- New spare tire cover dipped white
- New center caps and performance tires
- 50% tint on windshield and 15% on all sides
On the interior I did the following:
- New dash cover for cracked dash
- New steering wheel surround and emblem
- New radio screen with Apple car play and reverse camera
- Carbon fiber wrap on wood grain
- Used OEM leather seats. New seat cushion foam and cover on drivers seat.
- Wrapped the center seat in oem-type leather
- New A-pillar trim to replace cut old trim.
-Hardwired V1
-New rubber floor lining.
I then fully detailed the inside and outside. I replaced thar majority of the bulbs on the interior and exterior with LED bulbs. I replaced the oil, battery, and intake filter as routine maintenance as well. Here are some pictures:
Where did you find the oem hitch and how much did you pay for it? 400+ seems like a lot to pay for a used piece of steel on EBAY.Tell me about it. I used a 24” breaker bar because I didn’t have an impact wrench at the time.
What does hardwired V1 mean? There is discussion on here about heavy duty aftermarket sway bar. Lots of people said it is a huge improvement. My brakes were pulsing so my shop turned the rotor’s down instead of replacing with new. I thought garage’s didn’t do that anymore but they said if there is room it’s cheaper.I love the carbon fiber wrap you did over the fake wood!!! Could you explain how you did that possibly? I bought from Rock Auto. If I recall it was about $200, plus another $100 freight.Where did you find the oem hitch and how much did you pay for it? 400+ seems like a lot to pay for a used piece of steel on EBAY.
I had some old wrap left from when I wrapped an emblem on another car. I was bored and decided to see what I could do with it. I used a hair dryer and a razor blade to wrap the wood. I removed the panels and slowly wrapped them. It’s fairly easy to do if you are patient.I love the carbon fiber wrap you did over the fake wood!!! Could you explain how you did that possibly? Hardwired V1 means I wired my Valentine One radar detector via an add-a-fuse in the fuse box. What does hardwired V1 mean? There is discussion on here about heavy duty aftermarket sway bar. I don’t understand about spare tire cover. Can you explain?
You can get an oem hitch for about $100 from many junk yards. Removing the old bolts is the worst part of the process.Where did you find the oem hitch and how much did you pay for it? 400+ seems like a lot to pay for a used piece of steel on EBAY.
LQK, the largest junkyard in the United States didn’t have a single one anywhere in the US. Unbelievable. You can get an oem hitch for about $100 from many junk yards. Removing the old bolts is the worst part of the process.
High 300s everywhere I look.I bought from Rock Auto. If I recall it was about $200, plus another $100 freight.
I guess it depends on where you are. I just looked locally in Houston Tx and you can get several ranging from $65-$150. When I was looking I found four different yards selling them for $100/per.LQK, the largest junkyard in the United States didn’t have a single one anywhere in the US. Unbelievable.
I just paid $158 today for one that they pulled and delivered from a local salvage yard today. Also included a semi-decent bumper cover. As has been mentioned, depends on where you are. I have an aftermarket hitch I would give someone that needed it.High 300s everywhere I look.
