The legendary and powerful Yamaha 1200 Vmax

Been wanting one of these beasts for a while now. Finally picked up this 98 for $3K. The speed with the V-Boost is offff the charts
Top speed of 160mph which on two wheels is faaaaaaast!

Had to get a black one to go with the Hoe!

Even someone as clueless about motorcycles as I am knows enough about this one to be in awe of it--truly legendary.

you know a bike is badass when they don't update it for about 20 years

I've always loved them
if I could find a clean one for $3K I'd pick one up myself

There are plenty of them on Ebay and CL and I was looking for a while.
I actually saw a 2006 with 3000 miles for $4500 so they are quite reasonably priced.
A 2010 however will cost you $18K

The nice thing is the VMax has hardly changed from 1985 till 2009.
The new model is very different though.

So yes this will be my winter project to strip her down and start from scratch turning her into the Black Beast that she is.

I have to say that even the stock bike is still a head turning machine

I'll keep you guys posted on progress

Very fast bike for being a "cruiser". My buddy has one, and can tell you they will do 140 for sure!!! LOL. I never really liked the look of em, till I saw/rode his, and he did a streetfighter style to it, so it made it different, kinda like that seconde bike in the pics. Can diffenently customize em for sure. Have fun bro. Keep the rubber down!! First bike?

Yeah I have seen them get to 155mph with good tuning. But not the kinda speed I feel comfortable with.
I love the look and there are many options to customizing them. Gonna be the project for the winter probably
I'm really diggin putting a fat wheel on the rear and upgrading seats. lights, exhaust and suspension
