Goimg to pick my 07 denali up Thursday anything I should look for? The oil pressure Guage seems a little low I have to drive it 1400 miles home what should I look for?

Gas, gas is low as well. Sorry, but I just had to!!
As far as your question, is it cold in that picture and if so, did you just crank it up? I have seen oil that low on my 6.0 Silvrado at cold temps until about 15 min after warm up.

There is an issue with higher mileage 6.0 and 6.2 oil pump pick up o rings. Seems that as they age the o ring that seals the pick up tube at the pump hardens and an air leak develops....sort of like a pin hole in a straw. It's worse when cold but gets better as the engine warms up and the seal swells a bit.
The cure is to drop the oil pan and replace the pick up tube o ring seal. I decided to do mine on my 2005 Escalade LQ-9 6.0 at 185K miles. Once I got it dis-assembled I replaced the pump with a new GM OEM replacement that has the new and improved seal.
I would recommend this to anyone with a high mileage LS GM engine.
As far as driving 1400 miles make sure your oil is current and take it easy until the engine warms up. If there is any way to get the pump replaced before the trip do it. The GN pump is around $125.00...expect labor A-Z to be $300.00....much cheaper than a $6K engine swap.

There is also an issue involving the oil pressure sender/sensor and filter. If your 6.2 has AFM the filter sometimes clogs and the sensor will fail. Symptoms of this are a guage that reads either 0 or 80 but not in between, and the CEL will be on with a code 521 or 523.
Fix requires the intake manifold to be removed to get to it so a bit of labor involved. I just went through this repair last week, along with oil line hoses which were leaking. (I had seen oil on the garage floor.)

Is the 6.2 and the 5.3 oil pressure sending unit, in the same spot and the same difficulty to get to?
Yes but swapping the sensor does not require removal of the intake manifold

That's what I was going to say....I didn't have to remove the intake to install mine. Took about 20 minutes.

Just replaced that oring on my 5.3 and it fixed the low oil pressure problem. Also replaced the oil pressure sensor and filter also.
You can replace the sending unit without removing the intake. It's a tight squeeze but can be done. There is a specialty socket you can buy at your local auto parts store. I have done it on my 01 camaro and have less room granted the truck intake is taller but it can still be done.

I agree I had the o Ring fixed and the my 5.3 still had 45 to 50 pounds of pressure at 256K mile and my wife wanted a newer car but running like a clock when we sold it.

Planning to replace the oil pressure sensor soon, ordered the sensor and socket yesterday. Mine went out over the weekend, code PO523 came up.

Does anybody have the part number for the Oil presser sensor? What about the oil pump that contains the new o-ring?
