never trade in yer old vehicle sell it outright or at least dont tell them you have a trade in untill the last possible minute
dealerships are very very shady with trade ins for example they say they can give you full book for yer trade in lets say its 5000 but they know they can only get 3000 out of it
theyll add 2000 to the cost of the new vehicle yer buying and by the time its time sign paperwork most people are not the wiser and if able to catch it like i always do when i go with friends when they buy cars. most salesmen i run into usually fess up some try to dance around it. You can avoid this buy selling yer vehicle outright or buy telling them you have a a trade in at the last possible minute also never show up in the vehicle you intend to trade in
