trying to find an amp to power my sub and all the speakers in my yuk. not lookin for anything crazy, just so id sounds better than stock lol. i have 400w speakers in the rear, will be getting between 300w-500w speakers for all 4 doors, and i have a 15'' kicker sub, and i have a pioneer head unit with 3 rca outlets, 1 front, 1 rear, 1 sub. hopefully this doesn't make me sound like an idiot, lol, first time doing a sound system in my yuk.

Not at all. If you are talking 300-500 w totals for the doors then I would suggest a kenwood Excelon xr-5s I am very satisfied with it and is has a small footprint. I use it with the setup in my signature below. $300-600 depending where you buy it.

Kenwood eXcelon 5-Channel Class D Car Amplifier RMS Power Rating: 4 ohms: 80 watts x 4 chan. + 350 watts x 1 chan. 2 ohms: 80 watts x 4 chan. + 350 watts x 1 chan. Bridged, 4 ohms: 160 watts x 2 chan. + 350 watts x 1 chan.

peak power, there were a couple different ones that i was looking at in that range

peak power pretty much means nothing, if you were to take an amp that did 300 watt rms and put it on a speaker that had say a 50 watt rms and a 300 watt peak, you would basically destroy that speaker from too much power

you would want to look at the rms or nominal range of a speaker to find what amp to match with it

any of these 5 channel amps that were mentioned would porb do fine for what you need, but just for your knowledge, its best to look at rms

the way a lot of companies also make their sales is on unsuspecting buyers who purchase an amp that says 3000 watts on it, but will only nominally put out 500 watts, which is a bit shy of the 3000 watt mark, lol
