So I'm looking at our local newspaper here and on the front page it shows a GMC Sierra on blocks. I think to myself someone hit them for those wheels. Then I read on and it says 35 vehicles were hit for thier 20" chrome wheels and tires. 140 sets totaling $125K. Local police said a group of professionals did it(no shit). You can't be rookies and it a dealership for 35 SUV's, Trucks.

They cut the power to three of the light poles to make it dark in the area they hit. Apparently other dealerships have been hit in the same manner. Then my wife tells me her cousin said she has a friend who lives not to far from us has an 08 suburban and was leaving to take the kids some where and it was sitting on blocks last week. She had the 20" OEM wheels. my wife and I share the garage because I have stuff on the other side. I told her until I get the stuff in the attic or arranged to make more room I was parking in the garage. I hate MFer's that can't work for thier shit.

That shit irritates the hell out of me. Same thing with everyone that was stealing catalytic converters from dealerships a few years back. Someone also stole the cat out of my old truck when it was at a commuter lot(i was at work). They hacked up my whole exhaust just for the hell of it so i had to get a new one done.

Cannot understand what motivates one to steal. This is a big reason that I have slowed down on the mods.

I also don't understand how they can unload that much. Surely the dealership/police will be looking for at least a 50 mile radius both online and locally. Guess they just travel into the state, steal, then go back to their state?

My thoughts exactly. I would be looking on ebay, CL, amazon etc for wheel/tire deals. But these guys could be going from state to state doing this. Not sure if the dealerships have something on the inside of these wheels to help them identify them.

Thats so crazy since that happened in Rockwall right off of I-30, not even a sketchy place at all. I know exactly where that is, wow.

Yes, this dealership sits right off the service road of I30 here in Rockwall, nice part of town. We have seen crime increase here do to our growth over the last 10 years. I don't see the growth slowing down therefore crime will not slow down either. Then on the news last night they show a car being pulled out of Lake Ray Hubbard and found human bones in it. Possibly to cover up a crime. Time to get my CHL, these morons don't care about anything other than getting paid by taking from others.

Not sure they will help, but I have 2 sets of locks on each wheel. Mine is parked in my garage at night. I very rarely leave it outside, unless I am traveling of course.

I have always figured if they are wanting to steal they will either find a way or just mess up a bunch of stuff because they can't.

This is true Yates, my 94 Sentra was broken into. Thief obviously got upset because radio was bolted into dash and subs and amp were bolted to frame in the trunk. The ******* broke my face in half instead.

I live in Dallas too. The thing that bothers me is the fact that they did not the local railyard in mesquite/dallas that literally has thousands of Tahoes, Yukons, and Eskys just sitting out there. I only say that because that rail yard is very close to where they did steal them.

I've seen people rip the soft tops on jeeps to get inside/or just to be dicks... EVEN WHEN THE DOORS WERE UNLOCKED!!!

This is why I have spare center caps. I figure at some point someone will pop that cap, see the 2 locks, and fling the cap into the weeds and take off.

Every rail yard or new vehicle storage area I have seen has security.
