2013 GMC Yukon XL Denali factory reman motor 20k miles ago.

About a month ago, my wife called me and told me the engine died going 10 to 15 miles an hour. She started it up and it happened again.

Hasn’t happened since then. This morning it died four times in the span of 1000 yards.

All while going 10 to 15 miles an hour.

What happens is the engine starts to rev up then drops RPMs revs up drops RPMs and then dies. There’s always a strong smell of fuel afterwards.

I got it and hit 45 miles an hour pretty quick and hasn’t died since then

What are your thoughts?

check the fuel pressure it should be 50+ key on engine off, 43psi engine running at idle.
the fuel smell could be the evap purge solenoid allowing fuel fumes in from the gas tank it is on the front drivers side of the engine, that could also be a possibility, when idling the solenoid should be closed.
