Ok thank you. This is a separate question but would a tire that's 275/60R20 fit on a 12" wide wheel?New shocks or shock extenders in the front
How wide of a tire would you recommend? It will "fit" but its going to be stretched. Not something I'd do since I don't think stretching a tire is that smart, nor does it look good, but that's my .02. Plenty of people do it and get away with it no problem.
Forgot to mention that tire is 275/35 meaning the sidewall is 35% of 275mm, while the tire you picked is 275/60, meaning it's 60% of 275mm tall, which is why it's a 33" tall tire, so it may not look as stretched at the one I posted, but will still stretch a little bit.I'd stick to 10" wide if it was me. But if you really want a 12" wide rim it would work, since it's only an inch wider than the tire. You're only really gonna start to see major stretching on like a 14" wide rim with that tire size. The picture is of a 275 wide tire on a 12" wide rim, so not too bad, and if you want a stretched look then I think you'd be alright with it.![]()
Thanks for the help, I tried looking for 20x10s but for some reason a wheel and tore package for those are more expensive than the one I found for 20x12s and I like wheels with a little bit of stretching so I'll go with those.Forgot to mention that tire is 275/35 meaning the sidewall is 35% of 275mm, while the tire you picked is 275/60, meaning it's 60% of 275mm tall, which is why it's a 33" tall tire, so it may not look as stretched at the one I posted, but will still stretch a little bit.
I will definitely post a pic when I get them on there but the site I'm ordering them from has a 4-8 week back order on the setup I want so it will take a little whileNo problem man. Hope everything works out, cant wait to see them when they get mounted.
I finally got the new wheels and tires, I went with 275/70r18 on an 18x10 wheel. I haven't put the lift on I just put the wheel on to see what it looks likeNo problem man. Hope everything works out, cant wait to see them when they get mounted.
Looks really good man! The tires don't look at stretched at all, and the aggressive sidewall on them just makes the look even better! Proved my thoughts wrong, and got an amazing look out of it. Thanks. I changed my mind maybe 10-15 times on what I wanted but I finally made my mind up on these and couldn't be happier, and they only cost $1475Looks really good man! Nice!
Thank youLooks great man! Really like the machined and gloss black with the dark blue paint.
I haven't gotten it back yet, I just dropped it off tonight and my mechanic sent me the pic so I can answer most of your questions tomorrow. The tires I got were Kanati trail hogs. With these tires they stick out about an 1 1/2" and that's with the factory fender flares and no spacers. The old wheels and tires I had were 16x8s with 285/75r16 and I didn't crank the stock keys and there was no rubbing so there shouldn't be any rubbing with the new tires. I'll let you know tomorrow about fender heights. 325s would look badass with 12 wide wheels and you would get a good 2 1/2 - 3 inches sticking out which would look awesome. But if you only have keys and spacers you might have to do a good amount of trimming.Damn!!! You've got me thinking about going with some x10 wheels, I LOVE the wide look!
Currently, I've got 16x8's with 285/75/16's, my wheels stick out 1 1/4" more than stock, and I have 1 1/2" spacers in the rear to push them out 2 3/4" past stock. Just turning the stock keys, I got about 1" in the front, still a little shy of level with the rear. My tires rub at full lock on the front wheelwell liner, not on the back of the fender. A little trimming, and I'll be good.... of course, that's before the Ford indexed keys, the Z71 coils and 2" spacers, and shocks and extensions I'm salvaging from my wrecked '01 Suburban go on. And I'm adding a 3" body lift, too. Wanting to be high enough to clear 315/75/16's (34.8"), or maybe even some 325/60/20's (35.4").... 325's on some 20x12 wheels would be absolutely sick.
What are your fender heights with the keys and spacers? Probably about 40" or so? Any rubbing with the wider wheels and tires? Looks like your 275/70/18's are just about 33.2" tall. What tires did you go with? Love the sidewall profile.
