Y'all,

My Tahoe with the 20" Style 5416 wheels is probably going to need new tires within a year, and I'd like to change over to lighter OE GM wheels, assuming there are some that are notably lighter. The only wheel I've ever seen discussed here as being "lighter" are the 18" Style 5355/5356 wheels, but I have never seen any mention of exactly what those wheels weigh. So, does anyone know of any credible source(s) for data on OE GM SUV/truck wheels that are appropriate for the GMT900 chassis?

I'm not interested in aftermarket wheels (expense, increased theft risk, long-term availability, and wanting my Tahoe to look stock-ish) or other OE manufacturer's wheels (e.g. off RAMs) unless the latter are significantly lighter.

To be a bit ornery, I'm also not interested in debating whether lighter wheels are "worth it" or that I "should carry less stuff" or whatnot -- you're welcome to your opinions on all of that, but I'm probably not going to engage on that subject. I'm also not "obsessed" with having lighter wheels, I'd simply prefer them.

Thanks in advance,
Scrappy

Surprised @ not finding wheel weight info after several searches.
Don't get why websites like
still don't cite wheel weight data.

Also very seriously considering 'downgrading' from 18" to 17" wheels & tires after considering not only wheel weight,
but noting that 245/75R17, 255/75R17, AND 265/70R17 tires are all cheaper than 255/70R18 tires
(255/70R18 are almost always cheaper than 265/65R18).

I don't know but the 18" oem silverado wheels that were on my 2018 silverado are/were 20lbs lighter than the 20" denali wheels (2012)
that is a very noticeable difference.
30lbs versus 48lbs, not counting the tire
