I just started having an issue today with my 2021 Yukon with 84,000 miles where the instrument panel is going crazy. I was hoping someone here is familiar with this issue and could give me some advice on how to address it.

I was driving on the highway and got the "service trailer brake" warning. That flashed away and I got multiple other warnings, including service wiper system, service theft deterrent system, driver assist disabled, airbag light, and a red steering wheel icon with something like "take control of steering wheel." Aside from the warnings, the tachometer is also fluttering pretty dramatically with no actual change in engine RPM.

I thought this could be an issue with the battery or alternator, but both have been tested and found to be without issue. The car is driving without issue (so far). The only problem is the instrument panel going crazy.

After stopping and restarting, the issue continued. However after about five minutes of continuous driving, everything seemed to go back to normal. I then started to play music with Apple CarPlay via Bluetooth, and the warnings started again and I could not control the audio volume with the dial.

I had the car read with a scanner, and I have multiple codes -- most from the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module (IPCCM). These are the codes listed:

Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module (IPCCM)
U007B-00 Control Module Communication CAN Bus 5 Off
U0140-00 Lost Communication with Body Control Module
U0146-00 Lost Communication with Serial Data Gateway Module
U0186-00 Lost Communication with Audio Amplifier
U0198-00 Lost Communication with Telematic Control Module
U0265-00 Lost Communication with Front View Camera - Windshield
U0422-00 Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module
U0566-00 Invalid Data Received From Front View Camera
U160F-00 Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module 1 on CAN Bus 1
U1008-00 Loss of Ethernet Link
U1611-00 Lost Communication with Engine/Powertrain Control Module on CAN Bus 2
U1962-00 Unable to Authenticate Serial Data Message

RADIO
U0140-00 Lost Communication with Body Control Module
U0186-00 Lost Communication with Audio Amplifier

Heater and Air Conditioning Auxiliary Control (HACAC)
U0422-00 Invalid Data Received from Body Control Module
U0477-00 Invalid Data Received from Serial Data Gateway Module

Any thoughts on what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated!

That certainly sounds like an electrical voltage issue, as these trucks are very sensitive to low voltage situations.

You said that the battery tested OK. How was it tested? Was it taken out of the truck and tested on a bench load tester? If not, I recommend that you take the battery to a local auto parts or battery store with a bench load tester.

The next item that you should look at, if you have not already done so, is to check all the ground connections in the engine bay to ensure that they are clean and tight. That also goes for the ground connections on the truck's frame, particularly the one on the frame under the drivers foot.

If the issue is not identified by the above tests/observations, then we'll need to dig deeper.

Sounds like a grounding issue or battery as said by Joseph Gracia. I not 100% but the Silverados have a issue with the grounding strap behind the right front wheel well liner towards the rear of the vehicle that would give issues of what your describing as it would rot away. The wheel well liner would need to be half removed to access. I don't know if the Yukons/Tahoes have that strap in that spot but worth checking.

Sounds like a battery issue, even though you said it was tested and not found to be the issue.

But if it's the original battery...It's an easy replacement, probably worth doing it anyways.

This video should help you.
