The fold flat seats are just an illusion created by the floor being raised up by the storage compartment, so you’ve lost height, and it isn’t flat, so all your stuff rolls out when you open the liftgate. I wouldn’t call that better at all. It is very inconvenient to have to take the third row out of mine, but, at least, once I do, the floor is actually flat.
Before I bought my 2024 Tahoe space and cargo were top issues. I am 6’2” not very heavy but I usually haul a lot of gear and sports equipment. Fishing tackle and water sports equipment.
I hate to go to Home Depot but for some reason I am there couple times a month with carts full of bulky stuff.
The Suburban/Yukon XL was my first choice but they would barely fit in my garage next to my wife’s Honda.
I drove almost every big SUV out there and the Tahoe/Yukon had the most cargo capacity by looking at it and the actual specs. Expedition looks almost identical but the numbers have the Tahoe with more cubic feet. All the GM trucks have gotten a lot bigger over the years and that’s what the customer wants!
I have a lot of friends with older Tahoe/Yukon and the GMT is the strongest IMO but not as big or quiet/smooth as the 2024. Also the driver compartment on the new GM and Expedition feels massive compared to older models and especially to the Sequoia which had the smallest cargo and the smallest driver/passenger area.
I really wanted to like the Sequoia as the older versions and the older Land Cruiser were great all around vehicle with strong solid V8 motor.
I am sure Toyota would sell lots of Sequoias if they went back to V8 and independent rear suspension. That would be the best alternative to the GM Tahoe/Yukon.
