Hi guys!
I know I'm diggin up a very old topic but I'm quite puzzled here.
I did it exactly as the OP described, the thing works perfectly, it triggers with the AC and shuts off when the AC is off.
I've just finished the work and tried into my garage before putting back together the front grille, headlights and stuff, but as for now to me it doesn't seem to have improved the situation so much...
Now I'll put it all back and try it on the street but in this moment I'm quite disappointed...

Any ideas/suggestions?

It would be helpful to know what you're working on (year, make, model, engine, options, etc.), and think about putting some of that info in your signature so it's always there to reference.

Also, what problem, if any, is trying to be solved, or is this modification just to have more peace of mind?
