D - I don't know how to do it, but apparently it IS hard to do. So, not sure if this is your best route to go, but... I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Good luck DW. Don't even attempt it unless you are real mechanically inclined. Just take it to a body shop. Most body shop damage the old one while getting it off because it is that hard. Good body shops won't though.

It's not that hard. One day I was juggling too many things while trying to get into the back of my truck and accidentally popped it off. I thought I had broke it and would need to buy a new one. I was able to snap it right back on. I'll see if I can get some pics and explain it later.

Connor you probably did break it a little. Every body shop I have asked about it (about 4 GM body shops) agreed that they would probably break it while removing it.
The only way to get it off is by removing the interior panel and going to town with four spinning screws. It does not pop off unless it was never installed properly.

I work at a Chevy dealer and my body shop said it is necessary to heat it up because of some kind of nut thingy (I am obviously not mechanical) to loosen up otherwise you will break the clips and nut.

SW CT,
I took the one off my tahoe and had it shaved when I first got it. You need to remove the interior plastics, then iirc remove the mounting screws for the wiper motor, slide the motor to the side to access 3 or 4 hex heads. Then remove ir slowly from the outside so you can disconnect the rearview camera and license plate bulb wiring. It should not take more than 30-45min. start to finish.

Thanks will the nuts and clips come out of the old applique and mount in the new one? The one I'm looking to buy doesn't have them.

Is it necessary to remove the wiper motor to access the bolts? Thanks for all the help everybody!

Hmm, looks like I have something to investigate.

IMO, it'd be MUCH easier to removed the rear bowtie, this the holes and paint.

Damn it is a big pain in the ass! I am trying to mess with mine right now. I have the Yukon appliq on it already just my freaking license plate bulb plug blew and I need to replace it and took off the interior plastic and the nuts and screw just keep spinning for the appliq.. I might just say screw it but my OCD keeps bugging me about only one tail light bulb working.

It is a pain in the butt but doable without breaking anything. At least I was able to. Getting to one of the nuts is a ***** andeven harder to get it back on without removing the wiper stuff. Just take your time. Should be good.

Will the bolts and white clips out of my Tahoe applique come out and fit into the Yukon applique? Most all the ones I see for sale don't have any bolts or white clips.
