How do I open rear glass 07 Tahoe when fob only activates lights?

I couldn't seem to find this exact issue anywhere. I'm preparing to install a backup cam, and couldn't get the rear hatch glass to release. The button is gone, and the fob activates the lights, but not the release mechanism. Liftgate works fine. But I had to open the glass to remove some clips to get the panels off. All the threads I found anywhere were to replace the button, or the liftgate motor or latch, but no one deals with how to get the glass open when you can't get the latch release to work with the fob. On the 06's, you could push a rod up by sticking your finger under the split trim inside under the latch. The 07-14's don't have that two piece trim.

UPDATE. I found another thread that discussed the rear wiper not operating when the glass latch doesn't work, so checked that and sure enough, my rear wiper wasn't functioning either. I found the fuse for both on the drivers side fuse panel on the side of the dash, in the lower right corner and it was blown. Replaced it and now the latch operates with the key fob. Ordered a new pushbutton switch from Amazon.

Ha, I just went through this myself during a back cam installer in panel above the license plate. New button and I was back in business...Cam fits in the stock location and looks like a factory install.

I didn't even know there was supposed to be a button there until almost two years after I got the truck. Mine was missing as well so I bought one off Amazon and installed. Lasted 2.5 years and now it won't release the glass. Started working sporadically when temps started to drop and now it's just done. Fob still works though

Guess I either got a dud or the aftermarkets don't last that long. This is the one I got and it's no longer available

Hoping I got a genuine one, but I think I just bought an aftermarket one too.
Hey at least it's cheap and easy to replace..? (I wouldn't know, I have yet to install it years later)

Yours will likely be fine. Just luck of the draw with aftermarket. The piece that was missing was just the button(apparently it is susceptible to gravity over time). The switch itself was still in the hole so I had to use a needle nose to grab and pull it out. Took a few tries but I got it, not sure how the replacement process goes if the button is still intact
