Anyone know how to disable the deafening alarm for when the door is open and the engine is running?

I'd install a switch in the line to the buzzer, so when doing a task that requires the key in the ignition and the door open, you could simply shut it off.

Driver side, it’s the box on the right. Just remove it and don’t forget to take your keys with you, lol.

I had to do this to my 99 Express, and I will most definitely be doing it to my hoe. Such a horrible, relentless sound!

Didn't those GMT400s have a buzzer under the dash? Little square box with a two wire plug going to it. Just unplug it and throw the thing away.

I believe i taped my box up years ago to dampen the sound to just the right level. "middle age man low"

Mine doesn’t work. Not gonna bother trying to fix it reading this thread!
It would be nice to have a headlight reminder though, I’ve gotten lazy with the Autos these days. Already cost me a jump, which then locked my keys inside.

fiy i believe this is also for all the warning chimes. so if like me you have a wife who tends to leave the lights on........ tape it up or deal with it lol. i pulled mine a few months back so i could work on the truck without being annoyed ive had to jump my truck 3 times.

Think i’ll grab one from a 4th gen Camaro if I hit a junkyard.
I’ve got nothing now and I’ve heard that “chime” on YouTube.

No thanks!!

Just removed my chime today and I am so much happier! I also removed the box for the auto DRLs. Now I can actually control my headlights!

I stick a toothpick in the door switches, holds button in. Still have headlight buzzer.
