When I started my truck to leave work yesterday (Tuesday), I got a SES. Codes are P0097, P00F4, P2199, P2227, & P2228. A little research lead me to believe it was the MAF going bad. Kind of expected after 117K and a whipple 2.9 sucking on the intake for 65k of that 117k.
Drove to work today, (SES still on), truck was fine. Went to go to GM dealer to get the MAF at lunch time and when I started it, the throttle surged. Then code P2101 was added into the list above. Engine was bucking and shaking. Shut the truck off and restarted, and it was running as expected with the SES...no throttle surge this time, no shaking.
I'm still guessing the MAF needs replacing but I also saw the "Driver Door Open Prime" feature needs a TSB update (TSB #18-NA-0037). I've been to the dealership various times over the last several years - I would think they took care of this already. Its suggested the throttle body needs cleaning which is preventative for diagnostic.
Just curious if any of you have experienced something similar and was replacing the MAF a solution to the P2101 code or is it just coincidental for me? I am going to clean the TB as well and see if that helps but I didnt hear or feel any vibration in the TB when the truck as running either. I know I can't throw parts at this thing without true diagnostic so I will Youtube how to figure out the voltage for each of those pins on the MAF. (I'm terrible with a meter). If anyone has any insight, it would be appreciated. Thanks.
