Help with grounding lights

Im trying to hook up some lights to go with the pulse of the music. So Ive hooked it up to the pos. speaker wire outlet on my amp and grounded it. I get light but the light stays on and keeps the beat going even with no music. Could anyone help me figure out whats wrong or what to do?

The positive terminal for the speaker on your amp does only that, provide positive power to your speaker.

Right now, you only have made a complete circuit. The same as if you took the Negative wire and put it onto the negative terminal on your battery and same with the Positive side. You need a signal for the sound to get through to the lights. Here is a link that you can take ideas from. It is very crude but does have some good points:

If you have a few bucks I bought some LEDs for $25 at cartoys a couple years ago, they sell them on amazon also though. The brand is VisionX multi color leds, they have a module that comes with the LEDs that changes color (7 colors) and also has three flashing patterns and a setting to light up with music. Also has a dial to adjust how sensitive the module is to sound. Check out my YouTube channel I've got a video of them on there and go buy some if you like them. I loved them! Ryon7966 is my channel. Or you can search RynoHarris and some videos should pop up. And as far as wiring them in they come with a 12v cig plug. I cut it off and ran the positive to my remote turn on at the amp and the negative to the ground on my amp. Easier than trying to get LEDs hooked up to a amp or speaker to pulsate and gives you the option to turn them off or have them just solid colors when you don't want flashing
