I’d think the center seat would be good for a dog

I sit there insted of my uncles dog when I hang with him. Otherwise the dog gets to lay there and nap.I’d think the center seat would be good for a dog
Oldest fit in there ok?My daughter & son in law have 4 kids, their Yukon XL is the main family car but they also have a Sierra crew cab pickup that they can all fit in if it's needed by folding up the center console & putting the oldest in the front middle with them
It's tight but everyone has a seat belt
I make the dog move to the back when I sit there.I’d think the center seat would be good for a dog
Who might sit there when you get one?1st: I've always found the center console makes my right foot feel restricted - sometimes I give my right foot a break and drive with my left,
and it's nice not to be forced to fold my right foot under my left every time by a center console that blocks my foot but doesn't use that space for extra storage.
Would I be less offended by the center console if it either fully utilized the space that it otherwise restricts, or did not get in the way of my foot?
Answered that question by deleting my center console entirely.
2nd: in previous vehicles (Caprices / Fleetwood), whoever my significant other happened to be at the time,
she preferred the ability to slide over to the middle to be closer to me once in a while, as did I whenever I let her drive.
Then there are times when there are times when neither of us are driving ...
3rd: surprisingly easy to drive from the center seat in a Caprice / Fleetwood with left hand & foot for hours.
Stupid center console made it so uncomfortable it was impossible for more than a few seconds.
So now I'm looking for the center seat from a Silverado / Sierra to install in my Tahoe. Once I do that, I can give newbz driving lessons again ...
Mostly me or my significant other.Who might sit there when you get one?
Nobody else allowed im guessing?Mostly me or my significant other.
'Allowed'? More like, I'm most likely to sit in it, followed by my significant other - we're also the most likely to sit in the driver's seat ...Nobody else allowed I'm guessing?
Understandable. I am a bigger person and do get to sit there in friends trucks and stuff but that's just them. Everyone prefers different things.'Allowed'? More like, I'm most likely to sit in it, followed by my significant other - we're also the most likely to sit in the driver's seat ...
... can't really think of anyone else who would be 'very likely' to sit front¢er, except for trusted friends?
Did pass out once from dehydration while driving, front passenger (not milady, just a friend) slid over to front¢er to take over for a few min,
he drove us to a gas station where I woke up to a very large H2O bottle in my lap while he added gas.
No one in the world wants any of these people sitting in any front¢er seat:
* a very large person - I'm 5'9", 180lb, average build; anyone bigger than me may be in danger of crowding out whomever is driving
* anyone 'too young' to sit there - this is subject to whatever psychological biases are active in that vehicle
* anyone who 'needs' to spread their legs wide apart
Look, I get why center consoles are more popular than front¢er seats, but separate from that I occasionally give driving lessons,
I think a front¢er seat that has enough storage space to credibly be considered a center console,
is just plain more functional than a mere center console that cannot double as a front¢er seat.
Often enough, my significant other wants to lay out for a nap across the entire front seat space while I drive (yes her head is in my lap, not that kind of fun though).
Center consoles make this impossible.
Part of it is them understanding my adhd and atusim and they want to make it more comfortable for me to be in a car im still not used to, meeting new people which im terrified of.Every Caprice (3 9C1-LT1s) that I ever owned, the Fleetwood that I owned, and the Dodge Intrepids that I owned before all of those,
all had two front seats where the middle formed a front¢er seat (none had any storage spaces),
except for the optionless Caprice wagon that had one solid front bench for a front seat that had three belts but comfortably seated four for several 30min drives.
(Wagon's bench was hollow enough to have considerable UNintended storage space, but it was not easy to get stuff in or out of it.)
Front¢er seat that doubles as a pair of storage spaces is actually a superior upgrade to those front seats.
HATED & LOATHED the front seat of the 2012 Yukon XL I leased for Uber / Lyft / Via / Juno / Gett.
If the center console MUST be in the way of my right foot, then why not actually use all that space taken up for actual storage of stuff?
(Although in a driver-for-hire's case, probably a bad idea to have a front¢er seat, even if it has plenty of storage space.)
They probably consider you a good enough / trustworthy friend to sit adjacent.
I appreciate that. Just don't Wanna post center seat questions again and risk people getting irritated.Welcome from Miami&Queens NY!
Great group of people here so no worries on anyone being rude!
I sadly can not drive due to a intellectual learning disability. I was on here to inquire about stuff. I wont be on here often. So no worries about me clogging up anything.@Shaycormac Unless I missed it...What exactly are you driving?
Now I see it in your first post. My bad.I sadly can not drive due to a intellectual learning disability. I was on here to inquire about stuff. I wont be on here often. So no worries about me clogging up anything.
