hmmm...was not expecting more projectors. From what I was reading not much good to say about any projector for our years and I agree with them at least my experience on the pair I bought.

Dependent on what you want to spend you could purchase some good quality projector lens's and retro fit them into your current set you have. Guide here.
If not then get those regular light housings you linked to and purchase some regular halogen bulbs. If you buy LED's or HID's it is going to throw light everywhere and hurt other drivers.

Thanks for the link, not sure if I want another project but I'm glad you let me know. Maybe I'll get the regular ones and mod the spyders later.

Projectors are fine - if you have the right projector and bulb. If you want the best lighting, you should get a set of high quality, glass lens projector housings and put Bi-xenon projectors in. You will need an adapter plate, but it is easy enough to fab. Then, purchase HID bulbs and transformers. It is pricier than straight, out of the box projectors, but the output is ridiculous. Plus, with the combination of the moveable block off plate and 4-HI mode, you can read a book a half a mile away. I have a PDF of the adapter I created if anyone interested.

Found these brackets on lightwerkz and retrofitsource

"C-Brackets replicate the factory mounting points allowing for a no hassle installation"

Sounds to me like it is replaceable without opening the light assy. I'll take one of my lights out and see if I can remove the halogen projector from the back by unscrewing it and verify that the bracket is made for my particular lights.

If it that easy I am all over this! :head3:

I bought these a couple of years ago and can't see where I am going at night. (I don't drive at night very often)

2005 Tahoe BTW

I was thinking of buying these

My hope it to get better lighting, not sure what bulbs to get and would appreciate suggestions on that too, of if you know of some other lights that are good.
Do you just have the stock halogen bulb in it-those are junk and most likely your problem.Kepp what you got and install some gtr ultra led bulbs and you will be very happy no mods needed. They make a huge diff for me i tried opt 7 and their junk for low beams-watch this video it sums it up

Very informative video, thanks for sharing. Those bulbs are almost as much as the HID mod ($200 vs $250) also did not know I could change the bulb in them. Have to think about that one.

I had DEPO headlights with HIDs from theretrofitsource; I kept them in for a few months and then swapped back to the original headlights.
The passenger headlight had a bounce/wiggle that I could not get rid of for the life of me. Tried the fooseball/ping pong ball trick, tried epoxying the ball socket, locked down the adjusters, whatever else others have done, etc. but to no avail.
While I loved the light output and pattern of the DEPO/TRS combo, I absolutely hated looking like an idiot any time I hit a rock in the road and the passenger light just bouncing light all over the place.

Did you have to open up the headlight in the oven to install the HIDs from retrofitsource?
