My headlights suck and I would loke to upgrade them. Any recomendations on HID or LID bulbs, ballasts that arent china junk? High quality China is OK.

6000-8000k 55w hid's will work great, shop ebay or amazon, there's really not much difference bulb wise between makers so no sense in paying high dollars for hid bulbs, ballast's can differ in quality and those are a gamble you might pay $200 for a set and they can be complete garbage and then go pay $30 for a set and have them work for years. I bought generic brand and they work perfectly fine. couple bulb failures over the years but I just bought cheap $10 bulbs and they work fine if one fails you just slap a spare in and off you go. the trick to getting HID's to work well is using good wire and hook them up with relays directly to the battery and just use the headlight power wire for a trigger.

Lots of opinions on this topic, and there have been recent threads discussing this subject. Take a quick search, and you should be able to find and review other folks opinion, perspectives, and recommendations.

I have converted to LEDs inside and outside, supplied by JDM Astar, and I am happy with their performance.

Good luck on your search and ultimate conversion decision.

1st we need to know what headlights you have now. Can give zero opinions without any information.

Example : “Does my ass look big in these shorts!”
(We need to know size of ass and size of shorts and hopefully with pics)

Post a pic and we can go from there.

Btw here are pics of my lights

Are those factory bulbs, or something upgraded?

Check out the Retrofit Source. They say their bulbs are designed to put the light output from the bulb in the same spot as the halogen bulb so the output shouldn't be bad. I haven't bought any HID kits in years and I did a projector retrofit to my Yukon so it looks factory. Whatever route you go, PLEASE properly adjust your headlights after so you aren't blinding everyone on the road.

Sorry for the slow response everyone. I have stock halogen bulbs in stock reflector housings. Thinking about HID projector housings with halos and LED high beams? I don't mind spending a couple hundred on the project.

I got retrofits morimoto LEDs 2stroke 2.0, this is in a Denali though so the headlights are pretty good to begin with.

Why does the first pic, before, look better?
More of a hot spot out close to the cutoff. Seems a bit more diffused after.
Sky looks different too, camera might have just picked different settings

End d up getting Spyder HID projectors from ebay. Some of the sockets were indexed wrong on the passenger side, and the plastic was so thick the sockets wouldn't secure with the gaskets in place. The ballasts were both wired backwards so I had to re-pin them. They look pretty good though and I'm happy with the light output.

Hi, where you get the grill insert and is it a sturdy installation? What about details on the custom headlamps? Can you tell me more about the parts and build process?
Inserts came with the grille when I bought it. There’s lots of detailed info in my build thread about the headlights. But basically mini h1 projectors bolted right in with minimal modification.
