I just put a 6" suspension lift on my 04 tahoe with 35" Nittos. I dont do much off roading but i was wanting to know if i should change gears. It has a factory rear end and i dont wanna tear up my transmission

Depends on what you want to do. Cruising at @70 may be a problem. But if you keep the speeds low you will just be slower off the line.

2wd or 4wd? I'd look at 4.88s with a good tune from blackbear.

I have 4.56 gears in my silverado 6.0L with 6" and 35" tires. The 4.56 really helped the tourque lost by the big tires. Before I would get stuck in 2nd gear towing my boat at 3k rpm and no torque. With the 4.56 gears I can pull the hills in any gear I want. Just keeps pulling!
