I am new to this forum, and my first post, so here goes:
I've read several threads about replacing lamps in the cluster for gauges, switches, dome lights, etc. but the gear selector area is dim, and almost unreadable. I don't think the LED replacement thing will help this...or will it?

Sorry, ..'03 Yukon XL had the cluster replaced under warranty 5 years ago for burned out lamps that were missed during their inspection.

Welcome! No, the led replacement will not fix your issue. You might have to get a whole new cluster or have that part serviced if possible.

Thanks, I figured as much, nothing is ever simple.

I may do the led conversion though, I saw some pics on here and it looks cool, the wife likes it too (since she drives it most).

Tried that

Tried to do the resistor re-solder repair and it didn't work for me. I re-soldered it three times. Even tried to remove old solder and re-install new solder.
