So it seems in my neck of the woods, prices may be higher than what most have reported. In SoCal, mid is 5.49 while premium in most areas has reached about 6.10+. Hope this isn't considered politics but was watching CNN this am and they were talking about oil prices and price gouching, look at the 2021 earnings these companies are reporting and oil prices in the market fluctuate in the market hence the higher prices yet these corps dont lose nothing, instead the consumer pays the price…

I'll run the # again in case we don't remember them... Current day...

6.2 around town 15 mpg with Premium at 4.89 25 Gal = 375 miles@ 125.00 .33 a mile

3.0 around town 25 mpg with Diesel at 4.79 25 Gal = 625 miles@ 120.00 .19 a mile

And for the 5.3 Crowd 17 MPG around town with RUL @4.29 25 gal = 425 miles@ 117.00 .25 a mile

Not to mention if ( and a big if..) shortages would come to pass. There won't be any lines for Diesel and they won't be out....

Thats why I'm an all-diesel fleet...
Diesel around me in michigan is consistently running .75 cents higher than regular. I wanted the diesel Tahoe but wife didn’t, so I lost.

Also just for the record “stations” don’t really set the prices. It’s their corporate owners that set the prices. They have a 24 hour hotwire that tells them how much and when to change the price. Station owners are powerless in this game….

Most stations are independently owned -- why wouldnt they set their own price? I often see same brand stations near each other with different prices.

Because they are set by their location to highways and population centers. And I'm talking about the Places like BP, Shell, and large chain Quickmart's and truckstops. Not a guy with 2 pumps in a 500 person town.... They have studied the demographics of each area and know where they can be higher and where they have to compete with 5 others within a half mile. This is known down to a science...

I drive what I want and just budget accordingly for gas. If a person/family can't pay for gasoline they probably have other constraints in their budget that need attention first. (just my $.02 cents)

It seems that facts and common sense are not always welcomed on the internet

Waited to long already so will stick with my Tahoe when it gets here. Hopefully at this rate by the time I get it rates probably GM down.
