...finally installed projectors and HIDs

and I must say... not bad.

Denali replacement projector assemblies. (I like the "OEM" look compared to the aftermarket halos)

I was impressed with the difference in beam direction and leveling with the projectors themselves. Now the HIDs... the halogens seemed to shine down the road a bit more, (light concentrated in the middle versus spread out) but the HIDs have a wider pattern and sharper cut-off.

Driving around to let them burn-in, they worked but it seemed to be brighter right in front of the truck than further out. Any thoughts on ways to adjust this?

I decided to try an eBay kit for starters, just to try it out.
They're bluer than I wanted, maybe the cheaper 6000k kit is to blame.

Not a particular brand. I searched for Denali Headlight assemblies and found a pair on Amazon. Together, with S&H, these were lower than some individual assemblies I saw with searching.

Always wonder if stock denali heads would fit my truck. Now I know they will. Gives me an idea for projectors now.

looks good how is the output with that headlight. i had my denali headlights in for a week before i took them out cause the output was terrible...one day ill finish my retrofit lol

I had questions about it also. Read that they would fit. Read somewhere that adjustment was needed, but it turns out that they do just pop right in.

With the original halogens it was good! light was more focused down the road and there was a wider beam spread to either side of the truck to light up the sides of roads. I felt fine with them. Haven't done much night driving since the HIDs were put in, have been busy at the house.

As it happens, I have to make a few runs down dark roads this evening to visit family, I'll let you know how the HID's work-out. So far right in front of the truck is great, I just want that brightness a bit further ahead.

Fix your passenger side bulb. It is installed improperly, I can tell from the beam pattern. It needs to probably be rotated. The ceramic return wire you see on the HID bulb should be facing the ground when installed in the headlight.

Looks good......I also just installed HID's in my mine and it does have a sharp cutoff but seems like less distance...headin up north tonite---I will really be able to tell the difference then

both of the ceramic wires are pointing towards the ground, is there something else I should adjust to correct the beam pattern?

Also, I have noticed that it has evened out a bit after driving a few evenings with headlights on. Is there a "burn in" (for lack of a better phrase) period for HIDs?

It took a while for me to find a "blacked-out" section of road to really see the difference, and the sides and distance are lit up fairly well. Maybe if i had gone with a whiter bulb, i may just swap out the 6000k for the 5000k bulbs to check difference out

Hmmm...if you look at the cutoff in your picture, you see the line is horizontal with a little step in it. Look at the one on the left. Nice and bright. The one on the right looks like it has a dead spot. This indicated that the bulb is out of focus. It could be due to poor manufacturing of the HID kit (most likely). You may be able to rotate it to the correct position.

HID's will shift colors over time, yes. There is no real burn in period though.
