So, I posted several days ago about getting the Putco stainless steel fender trim and no one responded. I was going to get them powder coated but they said they could not do it because the flares were thin and it might mess up the shape when they were blasting them.

I decided to paint them myself and think they turned out good. I scuffed them up with 220 grit and then cleaned them with dupli-color prepspray. I then gave them about 3 coats of self-etching primer followed up by 3 coats of dupli-color trim paint. All in all they look and fit good. I also gave them about 2 coats of matte gloss when they dried.

I hope they will last because I think it looks good!

The only 2 choices were OEM and Bushwacker and they both were to large for my taste.

As I said, these work for me and even though they were stainless steel, I was able to paint them a flat black and make them work.

Thanks, I love the Copper's! About to get my 2nd set!

I think if I would have went body color you would not have been able to see them because they are too small. I wanted to add some black to my truck to match the handles.

I just gave her a wash today, so I will try and take a few full pics before dark.

As for the lights, I dont remember the brand but have had them for about 2 years and got them off ebay. I have seen no other Tahoe with them and I get a ton of compilments on them. Below is a link for youtube where I first saw them. I love the horizontal tubes on them! I will see if I can dig up the name.

Was able to get a few pics just before dark. Its hard to see the fender trim from far away because it blends into the wheel well.
