Eyebrow overhead lights Front seat area

The driver/passenger eyebrow overhead lights on my 2004 Z71 have an issue. There are two buttons overhead to manually turn these light on/off - L & R. The black pushbutton on the drivers side has failed somehow. It is loose, there is no spring pressure against it. It rattles around and does not perform its function. It looks like that entire overhead console may need to be removed.

Anybody have this issue?
