Is this even possible? Does anyone have a part number (or part numbers)? I know I'll be doing some wiring which is no problem for me.

I am pretty sure that it wont work because of the center console being different from the Tahoes and Yukons.

I'm pretty sure it's one of the craziest things I have ever heard of in a motor vehicle. I wouldn't want such a thing simply due to the extra load it puts on the vehicle's electrical system. At home a beer never lasts long enough to put it back in the refrigerator between sips, why would it be any different in a car? And with hot beverages, you usually have to let them cool off anyway to drink them.

It won't be long before we want cameras on all four tires. So we will know when they need to be replaced. It's way too practical and physically demanding to bend over and look at the tread.

I actually looked into this in detail. My dealer said it should be possible with some custom work to the console and it appears that the assembly may even plug in. BUT, the parts were big $$$ and I never found this in a wrecked Escalade. I believe I still have a breakdown on the console and parts at home. I can double check after work.

The seats can keep your @ss heated and cooled why not have something for your beverages as well? The wifes minivan has an integrated cold box and we use it all the time on road trips. Keeping a beverage cold is more important than keeping it hot for me but it is all good.

If it was up to my dad we would still have only AM radio's in our car's. Technology marches on!

Regards,

JD

Yes, please let me know. I'll just keep in contact with local yards and tell them to call me when they get a wrecked platinum esky. Depends on the amount of custom work needed.

I don't think it would be to hard to create a cooled cupholder...hmmmmmmmmm

Get me some small thin rubber bladders and some desktop computer coolings fans and some duct for them...

I use a large cooler with ice on road trips. It will keep much more much colder than a console mounted whatever-it's-called. The entire console thing is just plain silly to me.

Technology stands still for nobody. After all, we have progressed from 8 track tapes to Ipods that will hold 386 million songs.

Maybe we need a console mounted Ipod cooler now!

(sending in patent now) :secret:

No problem! Just pay me a $2 royalty on each sale.

As soon as I can figure out how to circulate cooling fluid through the tires, we'll get

a patent on air conditioned tires to go along with the air conditioned seats and steering wheels.

Here's a zipped PDF scan of the expoded view. Obviously you need #40, but the dealer seemed to think they would need #43 to cannabalize it for the swap.
