Engine Coolant or Water?

I have a 99 yukon with 20100 miles and need to get my water pump replaced. I live in Washington DC and will get it replaced in the 1st week in November. There is a coolant leak. Will I be able to manage with using water until I get water pump replaced in November?

Yes that will be fine , In fact water is a better "coolant" for our trucks than Antifreeze because its thermal conductance ability is far superior to that of antifreeze

I should add however that Coolant does protect against Corrosion and obviously freezing so If you can try to put 50/50 if you can , Esp when the temps get near freezing.

Coolant also raises the boiling point of water past 212°F. I would not use water without coolant in it.
