So as I'm putting this '05 together I'm noticing lots of differences between the '02 model that I wasn't aware of. Such as:
1) the rear interior door lights deleted
2) glove box light was deleted
3) interior wheel well lights deleted
4) '05 doesn't seem to have power for the side mirrors- for anything. On either side.

All these things my '02 had. I'm really stumped on the side mirrors. So no more electric adjustment or auto dimming I guess. I'm sitting here scratching my head

I get that, but it's a Z71. That's what doesn't make sense to me
Z71 doesn't really mean anything it can be z71 and still be a LS or LT package, depends on how it was ordered.
and nothing has changed over the years my silverado is a Z71 it is also a LTII it has a couple bells & whistles but not nearly all the stuff it could have which is fine with me I hate nannies anyway

Post a pic of the RPO codes from the glovebox; from there some of the options can be determined.

Put your VIN into this web site and the RPO codes will be shown, along with some short descriptions:

The O2 still has a throttle cable, the 03 up use drive by wire electronic throttle. The 03 and newer also have a completely updated wire system and many functions are low voltage (can Bus) controlled where the 02 was mostly 12 V controlled.

Mechanically they are near identical.

Are the engine sensors connectors the same? Cuz I'm about to buy the engine harness and just need to know what all I need to look for to change

Cool Ty sir. Another thing I noticed is the '05 doesn't have a keyed liftgate glass button and my '02 does. I've already switched em out, but sucks cuz Im gonna have to carry 2 keys

Someone took that push-button cover that's on the rear hatch off. There was a keyed slot under it.

My '02 has an additional electrical connector port on it for the lock cylinder that the '05 doesn't

Another thing I found: both the sun visors in the '02 have vanity mirrors with sliders on the side to adjust the brightness for the lights. The '05 does not. Either side. And the '05 doesn't have the 2nd auxiliary visor either. '02 does. I'm trying to figure out how to combine the 2nd visor in with the '05 cuz I really like having that thing. I drive a lot of winding roads and when the evening sun is beaming, not having to move the visor back n forth is nice. And a lot safer too. GM... I'm scratching my head again

the whole visor will slide out, instead of just that little piece

Here's the rear glass button assy from the '05. This is def not a cover to a key hole and no connector plug for electric lock/unlock
