Ok, install is finished... very happy with it... looks exactly like what you would expect haha.

Also had them black out the GMC emblems, which came out ok. But since they letters have all those ridges, it's not amazing.

Thinking of smoking the taillights as well, but not sure if the $600 bucks is worth it. Any advice? Or thoughts on tinting vs. painting?

$600 to smoke them? YIKES!!!

There's local guys on CL that will do them professionally with paint for $100 or so. They usually use 80/20 clear/black

Most tint vinyl shops will tint them as well for way less and you can then go back if you want.

Any idea how difficult the grill install was?

Helped my brother in law with a grill on his CTS and you had to drop the whole bumper to get it out. It came with directions so it wasn't too bad. But I'm not sure in up for all that with the new truck.

Also, if you don't have a front tag requirement in your state ditch the front plate holder!

To be honest, I have no idea how hard the install was. They told me it was only a 1 hour job... charged me about $150. Not sure what went into the install... sorry.

Thanks for the info on the lights guys!

The new grille looks great!

I have an idea about the tails, I'll trade you my Tahoe tails and we'll call it a day :)

I just ordered mine today from GM Parts Direct. My dealer told me $1000.00 so this $342 price makes me nervous. The only reason I pulled the trigger was the info in this thread.

Someone else already ordered and installed it. So I don't think you have anything to worry about...

Except the fact that your dealer is looking to rip you off!!!

^^^^^ I was thinking of doing this to my SLT but leaving the GMC colored. That looks good.

Hey what number did you call to order the grill? I called the local gmc dealer in Florida and the part is 450$ wouldn't mind getting the grill for $342.00

I purchased mine from GMpartsdirect and it is due here on Monday. I will be installing it myself so I will update the forum with pics and problems.

From what I see initially, It looks like it is held in at the top that is easy to get to and two clips on the bottom and will not require removal of the bumper, I hope I am right.

I hope you are right as well because eventually I'd like to replace my Tahoe grille with something else too and don't want to have to remove the bumper. I do know that unfortunately for the '14 trucks most owners have had to remove the bumper to install new grille or front emblem.

Does anyone know where we could get the Yukon grill that is in the Yukon brochure on page 30-31? I think it looks better than the Denali grill.

Well I was wrong.
The grill came in from GMParts direct and its a beautiful piece for 342 bucks.

My first attempt at the install was a fail. The front bumper has to come off. After removing fists full of screws and clips I could not get it to budge so I buttoned it back up till I can find a schematic so I am not just blindly taking screws out.

Anyone have a link to a schematic by chance.
