Dealer "flash" after new throttle position sensor install?

Just put a new TPS on my 2004 4.8L after getting reduced engine power codes, seems to have went well but the idle's a bit wobbly. I've heard you have to take it to GM and have them flash/reprogram something or other? Wondering how much this is going to set me back and if it's actually necessary. Cheers

Just drive it 5-10 miles. The relearn procedure is computer controlled and learns parameters as you drive. It should and will smooth out.

Here's how you do it,
Get in the truck, shut the door, buckle the seat belt.
Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position (do not turn over)
press the pedal down to the floor as quick as possible and hold it there,
turn the key to the off position.
wait a few seconds then release the pedal.

That did the trick, purring like a kitten now, thanks. MUCH sharper throttle response and control with the new TPS in, hopefully better mileage too.

Also, you can unplug the tps, cycle the ignition, plug it back in and start normally. This will force a relearn. On my dodge, you must leave the ign on, disconnect the battery, ign off, reconnect, then drive normally. That forces a relearn on them.
