My Yukon's dash cracks started appearing a couple months after I got it when the weather started warming up. It looks like they had done some sort of repair that was painted over. It looked ok until it popped loose. I decided on the Dashskin cover and wanted to share some pics of the result. I can definitely tell it's a cover...the texture and sheen are slightly different than the factory dash. That's not terrible in my opinion. The only part I really don't like is how the cut off ends look. I wish they would find a better way to end the piece. Overall I am satisfied with the dash...it looks better than a big crack, and a bit more finished than the fabric covers I looked at.

I do like the look of that. If I recall those only come in black?

I'm sure you can find other colors. If not, you can always paint it to match. They sale them on Ebay too or Go to this site

Newdashparts.com

I found them there too

This is mine. I went with the cover that covered the whole dash. You can't even tell it's there unless you look at the airbag! Got it off Amazon. Quick and easy install!

But it’s hard to NOT look at the airbag since it’s right in the middle of the dash. I couldn’t do that, every time I looked at my dash it would bother me. Which is every time I drive. I’m glad you are happy with it though, that’s really all that matters.

True, they aren't a perfect solution. Just a compromise between a cracked dash and expensive full replacement.

We do 2-3 a week at the Chevy dealership I work at.

How long does it take to remove the old dash? I'm asking 'cuz I wanna remove a dash from a car being parted out that's in equal or better condition than mine to fix up and swap into mine. I'd like to have an idea of how long I'll need the seller to allow.

I think I did the whole thing in 3 hours, taking my time and doing it slowly. Just to remove the dash would be about an hour

My Yukon's dash cracks started appearing a couple months after I got it when the weather started warming up.

This is mine.
Either of you guys have any updates since installing? Now that it has been several months, I'd be interested to hear how things are going, how adhesion is doing, noises, etc.

I was going to hold off on putting a skin on mine, but after I drove to Charleston, SC for a road trip this weekend, and experience potholes on the highways there that are comparable to IED detonations in Afghanistan, my crack near the passenger airbag has grown and now rattles at highway speeds. If I can get some real world feedback from you guys, or anyone who has used one of these skins for a few months, it would be much appreciated.

I am really looking for this being worth it, or doing a dash swap myself.

TIA

Mine is still working as it was when I installed it. It hasnt moved, peeled, faded or anything else. I don't hear any rattling underneath, but I did put extra adhesive in the cracked area. the only downside is the annoyance of seeing the end of the cap next to the vent.

I did see a competing skin product on Amazon that came all the way down and includes the stereo area. It had mixed reviews and required painting, but I wish I would have looked more into that before buying the one I did.
EDIT: that was the one Keanen55 used.

I’ve had the dash skin one on my ssv for over a year now and it’s been fine. I think the ebony dash hides the cover better.

I recently had to pull that front piece of the dash off because all of the clips had broken off and was making a ton of noise. Plastic welded it back together and put it back on to a quiet dash once again.
