I have low oil pressure on the 05 Denali, which last week passed 300,000 miles. It's had it for a while, and the dealer said it wasn't the oil pump, and someone else checked to see if it was a plugged screen on a sensor, but it turns out the Vortec 6000's must not have those screens.
After reading this, I may replace the oil cooler.
Another possibility is that it's a bearing, refer to this.
The engine has always been run on Mobil 1 full synthetic, with oil changes done at approx. 6,000-7,000 miles. It's had a lot of highway miles, so going a bit over on occasion can't be too bad.
The dealer it gets taken to has always been good to us, and one of the mechanics tells us if he thinks we would be better to go with someone else for a repair, but I still do wonder if maybe it is the oil pump.
Any help would be great, or anyone who has also had low oil pressure problems.
