Budget-minded resonator delete mod

I didn't like the ugly resonator can so I took the new Tahoe to the local **** shop and they did away the can and welded on a stainless slash cut tip. . I just didn't feel like droppin $140 plus for the SLP. The stainless tip + labor=$75.

That does looking good. I as going to do the wife's like that but duals with angle cut tips barely coming out the sides, however I think Im just going to leave it hidden. Looks good though!

I'm pretty sure it would...it has nothing at all to do with emissions. It is only there for sound tuning...which in this application really doesn't do much at all.

the mod made the tone just a tad deeper...made the gurgle @ start up and take-off a little louder.

I like it. I have been thinking about just cutting it off with sawzaw or cutoff whell so it dumps just behind the axle. I am not a fan of the big ass can either.

looks good. mine looks the same except i decided to throw in a magnaflow muffler. the manaflow muffler is A LOT SMALLER AND LIGHTER than the stock muffler which helps performance, slightly, because of the weight cut

I did the same with my Yukon. $60 for a stainless tip and about $30 bucks at a local muffler shop to weld it on. Voila.
Looks good man.

So, tell me more about the sound now. Is it "better?" Is it louder, but not better? Is it better AND louder?

How would you describe it? And is there ANY droning inside the cabin now?

With mine i noticed a little more volume under acceleration and upon startup but other than that not to much difference. Certainly no drone issues at all. I did mine mostly to get rid of the resonator can hanging out the back.
