Broken door handles, both front

I’ve started to do the personalization lol. But the truck has some worn parts so it’s time.

broken door armrests/handles and peeling Chrome.

Bought the Escalade upgrades, and we are gonna manufacture black/cashmere door panels for each door.

I can see the Escalade woven panels are already better lol. I’ll deconstruct them and put them back together.

Also got the Cadillac/Denali Steering wheel and Leather Column shifter. It is very nice I must say.

No I’m going to drill out the plastic rivets from each panel and build the black and cashmere panels. The plastic rivets I can replace with screws and washers.

Be leery when you pull the armrests off the panels. I bought a few panels and repainted them and when I went to remove the armrests the screw races were all broken so they fell apart and there was no way to reattach them. And since you can’t buy just the armrests the entire panel is worthless. It’s a terrible design. Doesn’t matter if it’s Escalade or Chevy it’s the same design. I went through 7 panels in order to make 4 work.

Don't forget that the Cadillac has the heated and cooled seat controls on the dash.

this is my work truck so I’m not gonna go to crazy but the breakup in color will be a nice touch. Thought about the chrome speaker covers too.

yeah but the way the Tahoe door panel is made, it’s all one piece. So it won’t transfer the same.

Looks like you got lucky on those armrests, the screw races aren’t all broken like most are. Nice.

The 07-09 door panels aren’t that bad about breaking. It’s the 10-14 ones that break really easily. It is a weak design but I think they underestimated how many people slam the crap out of their doors.

Should have it together this weekend guys, really busy at the shop with holidays. And my truck is a 2012 so I’m alittle disappointed in the plastic interior. For a 40-50k truck, should have been built a lot better.
