Did I never notice my OEM booster hissing inside the engine bay when I press the pedal or is something wrong here? I also mentioned this multiple times with the previous ones and nobody said anything?

Just installed the Cardone and it does the same thing. Also the pedal return is super slow. takes forever for the pedal to come back up.

WTF?

I have never heard the booster hiss in an engine bay. Not saying it can't happen, I just never heard it there. I always heard them hissing inside the vehicle when I would apply brake pedal. If nobody said anything, why didn't you ask again or push for an answer?

How long is forever? Do you hear the hiss noise inside the vehicle with the door closed?

Perhaps I never noticed it, but it definitely does it. My old one was affecting the idle when I pressed the pedal but I thought it was failing because it was hissing inside the engine bay.
I just installed the Cardone and if I press the pedal down hard the brakes drag for a second when I release it.

I must be cursed and this bad parts sheet is starting to get me down.

I personally have not had problems with Cardone but that may just mean I am blessed and the other names he asked about, I had never heard of.

This guy just can't catch a break.

Is the hiss you are hearing there al the time or just when the brakes are applied and does it effect the engine idle?

Just hissing when I press the pedal. I've checked the vacuum hose. Cardone says it will void the warranty if I remove the check valve so I haven't touched it.

But If I press the pedal down hard the pedal takes a while to come back up. When I drive it and do that I feel the brakes dragging for a second or two.

Feels fine apart from the hissing, dragging and spongy pedal!

I called Cardone and they have no CS right now. So I sent a message a couple hours ago but no reply yet.

Yea, wait for their reply but you did not answer my question about the new booster hiss noise effecting engine idle.

Someone in another forum just checked and say they have no air noise under the hood when they press the pedal. They also have a Cardone booster fitted.
No does not affect idle.
I'm confused. I even thought I might have tightened it down to hard and loosened it off a little and no change. This sheet sucks

You have the worst luck but over the years I have gotten bad new or bad reman parts before. It is just part of what can happen. Wait for their support to contact you.

That pedal return is normal and is likely a little slower because it is new. That is not slow. It is fine. That hiss you hear is the operation inside the booster and as long as there is no vacuum leak effecting the engine idle, I would not worry about it. Drive it like you stole it.

The brakes drag for a second or two when I'm driving and do that.
It's not right.

And if I drive it like I stole it I'll crash it cause the brakes aren't that hot

Someone else is telling me they have no air noise when they push the pedal?

So you are saying that you can feel the brakes drag after you release the pedal wile driving, is that correct? How do you feel that and what are you feeling to say that? It could be a problem with calipers no freeing up after pedal pressure is released or shoes having weak return springs or a groove in the show backing plates not allowing free movement of the shoes or even filthy backing plate surfaces with no brake lube where the shoes make contact. I know you did master cylinder recently and now the brake booster but I don't remember you saying anything about pads or shoes replacement and I am not gonna go searching back through all this. Let me know. But that pedal return is normal. You may not think so but I have been around lots of vehicles over mt almost 40 years vehicle experience and that looks normal. Others here can chime in and I will accept their opinion if they feel am wrong. I have only known one perfect person and his name is Jesus.

That may be the same vehicle as you have or not. The booster has a large spring inside of it to return the pedal and they are not the same for every vehicle and I actually don't see a difference in the return speed of both videos.

Is this sound really normal? This is after the engine is switched off so you can hear it while it still has some vacuum.

Yes. I can feel it because the truck continues braking after i let off the pedal.

It could be all sorts of things but I just put this brake booster on and it's never done it before.

I had zero experience with these things. This is the first time I changed one or had anything to do with one. I'm pretty sure it's not right.
